Divebums - You got gills?

Photographers - It's your time to shine

Hi Bummies,

I've got a couple of good news to share. =)

Firstly, Divebums is now registered with the Brunei's Office of Registrar. We are now licensed to engage in most diving-related operations.

Secondly, one of our biggest FAN is DSTCom ( DST Communications Sdn Bhd), one of the two providers of mobile communications services for the businesses, local and foreign communities in Brunei Darussalam.

We're been liaising with DSTCom for a few months now, our portfolio of underwater images have been circulating among their team and on Friday, 20th Sept, I received a call that would make all of us proud.

They love our underwater images and are very keen to print them on Easi Cards. And it isnt just a once-off print, it will be a collector's set. Imagine your images splashing across town... And what's even better is that you will be COMPENSATED if your images are chosen by DSTCom. Finally... all those investment in wide-angle this, macro that, inon strobes, SLR cameras, and patience are paying off.

Caryn and I will be meeting up with them today to discuss the opportunities that are open to Divebums now. I see this as our first but enormous step towards showing our country the kind of beauty that lies beneath their footsteps. This will be an exciting project that abets exposure for our shining photographers, who might one day, be the next Michael Aw, Ikuo Nakamura, David Doubilet, to showcase their images.

We would like to encourage all divebums' photographers, who are interested (you'd be nuts not to), to submit their best 25 underwater images to us. Preference will be given to images taken in Brunei dive sites.

1. Images wanted: Face shots, vibrant colours, corals, and images that will appeal to the general public.

2. Please identify your subject and dive site.

2. Images resized to 850 x 550.

3. Deadline: Saturday, 27 October 2007.

4. Email pictures to: info@divebums.org or burn it into a CD and pass it to Caryn or Lee Ming.

Above is a sample done by Simpur, the provider of prepaid internet cards, during initial discussion, but Easi has since took over interest.

Well done, Divebums!
